What's Your Go-to Language?
We all have a style of language. Sometimes our words are said automatically and out of habit.
Stop and think about it. Are the words you often use more positive or negative? Do you say no more than yes? Do you find yourself critically judging others and situations?
Words set off emotions and when we use negative talk, we trigger the release of stress producing hormones. On the other hand, positive words can literally change your brain for the better so you see the good around you and in others.
This week, notice the nature of your words. If you find that they are more negative and judgmental, begin to consciously choose more positive words. I’m not saying to be inauthentic. Just look for the “good”, and you will find it. You will feel happier and will also have better interactions with others!
