Intention Matters
Setting intentions is a powerful way to help achieve happiness and fulfillment. They provide insight into our aspirations, values and purpose so we can live in the present while still aiming toward new goals. When your thoughts, words and actions are aligned, your intention is much more likely to be realized. But if they differ from one other, your energy becomes scattered and unfocused and carries much less power.
Decide what truly matters to you and be honest with yourself—and with others. Think about areas of your life that could be improved—whether they are relationships, health, spirituality, or community involvement. Consider what you need to do to accomplish your goals and follow through with your commitments. You'll feel good about yourself, and be seen as reliable and trustworthy in others’ eyes as well.
If you think one thing and say another, or if you say one thing and do another, you are sapping your integrity. Intention is most powerful when it comes from a place of sincerity and truth rather than from a sense of lack or need. Let go of things working out perfectly. If the true intent is there, relax and allow opportunities to come your way.
Technique of the week: Pick one goal and write it down. Whether it’s to eat better, to work out more, to rest more, or to listen more intently—keeping it simple will help you stay centered and facilitate the changes you want to make!
