Listen – Really Listen

Use your ears. During conversations, intentionally listen without interrupting or thinking ahead about what you are going to say. This kind of “real listening” will improve the quality of all of your interactions.

When you’re talking with someone, really listen and allow some silence. Notice and appreciate how the conversation may go in a completely different direction than you may have thought.

Effective listening provides many benefits. It expands your knowledge, helps solve problems, reduces misunderstandings, and offers a sense of peace in not having to be “on” all the time. Try it – consciously use your ears this week!
